For a while now Laura Michelle has wanted there to be a spinoff of A Different World. It wasn't until last year that she wrote the idea down on paper. With it just announced this past August that Netflix is in the works of creating their own sequel with Felicia Pride and Debbie Allen, Laura Michelle saw this has her opportunity to still make her own spinoff with the hopes of being cast in the Netflix version.
